Black Dirt Tango is an original Texas/Americana band based in Dallas, Texas.  BDT was formed in 2010 by two long-time band mates:  Steve Henry (vocals/guitar) and Dawn Estes (vocals/melodica/harmonica.  Shortly thereafter, they were joined by Michael Brown (vocals/bass) and Newell Hardy (pedal steel/guitar), and finally by the great Paul Trimble (drums).  Each of the band members play and have played in multiple bands for many years, and bring a wonderfully broad sweep of musical interests and talents to the BDT project.

BDT’s music has been described as a mashup of styles from Steve Earle, Asleep at The Wheel, and Emmylou Harris.

Thanks to the World Wide Web, BDT now has friends and fans from all corners of the United States, and as far flung as Australia, France and even the Ukraine!

In 2016, BDT released its first album, the cleverly self-titled “Black Dirt Tango” and sold out the historical Sons of Herman Hall upon its release.  The album is available for purchase on iTunes, and can be streamed at Spotify, Apple Music and most other streaming services.
